This card shows Rupea fortress, an old fortress recently renovated by the government, we visited the place last summer and we were amazed by the good renovation of the fortress and the view from the top.

Rupea citadel is located 50 km from Braşov (Romania). It is a peasant fortress with four towers strengthened with polygonal areas. Fortress has changed over time by adding two courtyards and three defensive towers. The fortress is built on three premises: upper fortress is the oldest building.

The upper fortress was built on the ruins of Dacian settlement: Rumidava.
Middle Fortress built in the XV century, enlarged in the early seventeenth century. Here are the chapel and Scouts tower.
Lower Fortress, built in the eighteenth century.
