Healthy snack: Oatmeal bars with dark chocolate

Hi guys! Today we wanted to make something delicious sweet / snack but also to be something healthy. So we decided to make some oatmeal bars with dark chocolate, walnuts, almonds and raisins.

Last year I searched on internet a recipe for oatmeal bars, a simple one because I did not have at that time all the `fancy` ingredients in the house… and to my surprise I found one quite easy to make and also with few ingredients.

Those bars can be a good substitute for when you have craves for something sweet but it could be your breakfast too…

This is  something simple, something sweet, something HEALTHY that everyone can do!

Here are the ingredients that you need for this recipe:


– 250 g rolled oatmeal

– 2 ripped bananas

– 50 g raisins

– 100 g dark chocolate

– 2 tb spoons of sugar (you can use also brown sugar or maple syrup)

– a little bit of almonds essence, rum and vanilla

– a pinch of salt

The first step is to mix all the dry ingredients. Smash up the banana’s with a fork and add it to the mixture. Chop the dark chocolate and add it into the mix. Add then the essences, the milk and the salt and mix them together.

Prepare a tray for the mixture. We used a ceramic tray for this one. Use some backing paper and wet the paper and dry it good, put the paper into the tray and then lay down the oatmeal bars mixture. You can use a spoon to level it up.


Heat up the oven at 180 °C and let it bake for about 30-35 minutes. You will notice when is done, it will make a golden crust.

Let it cool for a couple of minutes and then cut it into bars.
